Directions

Rates are a special type of ratio that compare two different types of measurements. Instead of comparing ounces to ounces or tablespoons to tablespoons, you might be comparing miles to hours (miles per hour) or dollars to hours (dollars per hour). It’s important to pay attention to the units you’re comparing.

When you shop at the supermarket, you see ratios whenever you look at unit prices (cost per unit) or signs advertising a special deal (item per dollar).

Find the ratio of fruits to dollars in lowest terms. Drag and drop the ratios to the specials.
