We’ve seen that another way to measure EM waves is by frequency. Frequency measures how often something happens in a period of time. 

The frequency of EM waves is measured in cycles per second, another way of saying how many wavelengths pass by per second. This unit of measurement (waves per second) is called Hertz. The abbreviation for Hertz is Hz.
